In this area, our research focuses on the role of molecular motors, cytoskeleton and associated biochemical signaling pathways in cellular and tissue formation. 

Tissue Mobility and Development

In particular, the structural and functional relationships and commonalities among F-actin based cellular membrane projections (stereocilia, microvilli) and the role of molecular motors in defining not only intracellular cargo transport, but with cytoskeletal components, their potential role in cellular migration and tissue remodeling.

These systems not only play a fundamental role in basic cellular phenomena, but define key areas of biology, from tissue mobility/migration, development, cytokinesis during the cell cycle.
